This beautiful Belgian Sheepdog was resting in the sunshine at Huntington Beach Central Park, so I shot him. With my camera! It was fun to paint this little 6x6 panel, which I started as a demo for my Friday morning art class, and finished later in my studio.

Nicely done. Black animals are always a challenge for me.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, my secret is... don't use black! (Note to self: make a video about painting black animals.) I actually use a combination of colors to make black, and then add red or blue and/or white to make midtones. Thanks for the kind words. Happy painting!
